Secretariat commemorates 16th anniversary of Peoples’ Day
(Parliament news): December 07, 2021; Addis Ababa: Secretariat of the House of Peoples’ Representatives has commemorated the 16th anniversary of Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day, this morning, in anticipation of the upcoming national day.
The Secretariat honoured the national day at its precinct, in the auditorium where the parliamentary proceedings take place. During then, employees of the secretariat conducted a panel type of discussion being spearheaded by the Secretary-Generals of the Secretariat of the House.
During the commemoration ceremony, one of the spear-headers, Misrak Mekonnen (Dr), Secretary-General of the Secretariat said; the reform based new govt of Ethiopia has been relentlessly trying to assure the rights of all the Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ of Ethiopia more than ever and to taking it to the best level that has been demanded by them so far so long.
Though the TPLF led EPRDF was pretending in such a way as honouring the rights, demands and paralleling administrational issues, it couldn’t become true until these recent days of the new govt of Ethiopia, the Secretary-General reminded. She substantiated her claims by mentioning the two newly established regional states: Sidama and South West Peoples.
On the other hand, Dr Misrak mentioned the current situation of the nation and praised the joint national forces, being currently commanded by Abiy Ahmed (PhD), Premier of the nation and Commander-in-chief of them, for their heroic deeds and astonishing achievements.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Secretariat, Henok Seyoum (PhD) was the one who presented a doc spinning on the day’s major issues. The doc from the House of Federation was elaborated by him associating all the past, present and future points regarding the constitutional rights of Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ of Ethiopia.
Rather than the pseudo reiterations of the Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ rights, as to him; the TPLF led EPRDF couldn’t ascertain the real rights of them, which, in reality are achieved by the current govt of Ethiopia. He corroborated numerous evidences for his claims which, the employees of the Secretariat agreed too.
Farther more, participants of the commemoration, employees of the Secretariat forwarded their sides which range from disfavouring federalism to appreciating federalism. But in most cases, the majority of participants were against the ways how the Ethiopian federalism was taken and practiced. All of them agreed on the TPLF’s shrewdness, which was a dishonest approach to federalism.
