(Parliamentary News), Dec 23, 2022; Ambassador Stian Christensen, Norway's ambassador to Ethiopia and Norway's permanent representative to the African Union, has announced that Norway will continue to strengthen its humanitarian aid support and rehabilitation process for Ethiopia.

The Ambassador had a discussion with Honorable Dima Nogo (PhD), Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs of the House of Peoples' Representatives. The ambassador stated that Norway will continue to strengthen its support in the efforts to rebuild the affected sections of society and infrastructure due to the conflict in the northern part of Ethiopia and other areas.

The ambassador stated that the Norwegian government encourages the government's efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully and pointed out that activities have been started to restart various projects that were interrupted during the conflict.

Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Honorable Dima Nego (PhD) said during the discussion; that peace will play a decisive role in order to get out of the complications our country is facing and to continue the work that ensures the all-round development of the citizens. He also stated that the role of the partner countries has an important role in the process of rehabilitating the citizens affected by the conflict and rebuilding the infrastructures destroyed.

Stating that Ethiopia is a country rich in culture, tourism and natural resources, the chairperson explained that the government will work with all stakeholders to bring the country's economic and social development to a better level.
