The House of Peoples' Representatives is undergoing training to enable it to carry out its constitutional mandate of representation, legislation, oversight and evaluation, as well as parliamentary diplomacy.

Under the theme "A New Political Perspective for National Headway", current, national, regional and international issues are being deliberated.

The training includes a review of the current state of affairs of the country's reform process over the past four years.

Accordingly, senior House officials and members of the House noted the current political situation in the structures, institutions and personnel responsible for the management, provision and oversight of security in a country.

The House, which is the country's top authority, confirmed during a field visit that the reform process in the security sector is paying off significant results.

According to Tesfaye Beljige, Minister for the Government Whip, as we face the most difficult challenges as a nation, these security agencies have achieved tangible results that could be a good experience for other national institutions.

Some of the key institutions visited in the country include the FDRE Air Force, Land Force, Federal Police, Information Network Security Administration and National Intelligence and Security Service.

Participants praised the ongoing reforms in these institutions as a sign of hope for the future of Ethiopia.

The institutions provide equal services to all Ethiopians. It has been confirmed that an independent, professional, technologically advanced and sustainable and national security institution is being built.

Members of the House said that the transformation work is being carried out across the country and that it is the duty of all of us to make the younger generation aware of the achievements and play their part.

In order to sustain Ethiopia as a country and to achieve lasting peace and stability through institutional reform, it is important to focus on the minds of the younger generation.

MPs show gratitude the senior members of the National Institution officials and Professionals for their significant contribution to the success of the transformation. The fact that Ethiopians can work together to build a strong and prosperous nation is a true testament to the wisdom of all Ethiopians.

The training will be given for 7 consecutive days and it is hoped that the training will solve the challenges of peace and security, government services, cost of living, delays in development projects and related problems with knowledge and skills.
