(Parliament News): June 3, 2022: Addis Ababa: The Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives, Honourable Tagesse Chaffo said the Prosperity Party, which has great promise to transcend the country and its people, should take the lead in building a strong nation.

He made the remarks during a training session for senior officials and members of the House of Representatives on "Party Discipline".

Honourable Speaker Tagesse Chafo said Prosperity Party should take the country and the people to a higher level and it is the time for the party members to sit and consult together to adopt a new perspective.

"We must strongly oppose Western countries resolutions that violate Ethiopia's sovereignty and our interests," he said. He added that the members need to have a deeper understanding and consciousness of the current situation in the country.

His Excellency Tesfaye Beljige, Minister of Government whip said the main objective of the national reform is to make Ethiopia a model of African prosperity.

He said constructing a national identity using the power of the state, democratization and the establishment of a strong democracy are among the major pillars needed to build a strong nation.

Nation-building aims at the unification of the people within the state so that it remains politically stable and viable in the long run. He noted that the implementation of these major issues as a nation can achieve the desired level of our prosperity.

He said paradigm shift is the key to achieving the country's prosperity.

The Prosperity Party has achieved great things by overcoming many challenges and is determined to make Ethiopia's development a reality. He noted, for example, that the 6th national election was held peacefully and democratically during that difficult time, both internally and externally.

We can still build a strong nation. He said prosperity has paved the way for the realization of this great vision. He reminded the participants that the policy formulation has gone straightforward and a system has been put in place.

He said the Prosperity Party is committed to eradicating violent ethnic extremism in order to make Ethiopia's future a realization.

He said there are ways to permanently solve the challenges facing the country. Primarily: "Building institutions, taking a common stand, being strong so that the world's most powerful countries do not exert negative pressure on Ethiopia and creating unity are important issues," he said.
