It is to be recalled that Ethiopia recently established a National Consultative Commission.

The National Consultative Commission first priority is to put the issues that are planned for the next three years. That is why The House of Peoples' Representatives held an input forum yesterday on the direction of the three-year plan.

As was widely discussed at this forum yesterday, We Ethiopians have a long history, we have developed values of solidarity and unity, and we are a patriotic people. We are also described as a symbol of tolerance and brotherhood for the rest of the world beyond ourselves.

That is why the chairman of the commission, Prof. Mesfin Araya said “A national consultation involving all Ethiopians will be held for the greater good and success of our country.”

According to the participants of the forum, what is good for Ethiopia is that pays and respect each other's dignity, interests and existence.

Political and ideological leaders, in defiance of the traditional Ethiopian tolerance of respect and consultation there are disagreements among scholars over basic national issues. They have been impairing our own country dearly. This situation must change. We Ethiopians must go hand in hand for the lasting peace, unity and prosperity of our country.

"All Ethiopians are expected to play their part in the success of the national consultation process," he said. For the building of a sustainable state, to build a generation that will resolve its differences and disagreements through consensus, and to build harmony on key common issues. According to the participants, the commission has its own solid foundation.

Unfortunately, issues that need to be addressed in the internal affairs of our country have become a source of controversy. In addition, they are fueling civil strife, death, infirmity, displacement, and unnecessary warfare.

It is believed that in order to solve these unnecessary glitches, all Ethiopians should sit down and discuss on common issues. An independent national consultation commission has been set up to coordinate this consultation process.

The commissioners of the National Consultation Commission also took this heavy national responsibility by taking oath before the House of Representatives. They divided their subsequent activities into chapters in advance for preparation, implementation, and consultation. They generally interpret their work into four parts.

At the opening meeting of the National Consultative Commission held yesterday, the commission has provided a road map for the next three years. In the forum The Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives and other senior members of the House of Representatives, Speaker of the House of Federation, members of the Consultative Committee, the relevant senior leadership, the Chairpersons of the Standing Committees and the Deputy Chairpersons of the House provided input for the directional plan.

The commission's roadmap will be presented to all stakeholders forthcoming. The Speaker of the House of Peoples' Representatives, Honorable Tagesse Chaffo, who chaired the forum, said it is understood that all Ethiopians are called upon to play their part in the success of the consultation process.
