“Happy Ethiopian New Year!”

September 10, 2020; Addis Ababa: Speaker of the House of Peoples’ representatives, Tagesse Chaffo expressed his good wish to all Ethiopians and Ethiopian origins by saying: “Happy Ethiopian New Year!” today.

The Speaker delivered his good wish at his office adding that “Let the New Year be a year of peace, prosperity, cooperation and unity to everyone!”

He reminded some of the emblematic achievements that the country recorded in the last year. As to him, the successful completion of the first round of water filling in the GERD is an exemplary task. He added, the Sheger River Side project of Addis Ababa, along with the other mega projects at national level, is another achievement of the last year, for the nation.

Honorable Tagesse also recalled, we had seen some undesirable phenomena in the last year, which were against the existing norm, culture and values of the nation. He requested all the nations, nationalities and peoples of the country to resolve all the negative impacts through the spirit of solidarity and deep understanding of the essences of mutual benefits.

“If we remain virtuous, if kind hearts get numerous, if we get committed to positive stances, stand together and share ideas for actions, we can arrive at the peak of our high destination” the Speaker said. He once again wished success, happiness and prosperity to everyone in the New Year.
