Board urges public donate blood, save lives

April 23, 2020; Addis Ababa: The Board, established to inspect the accomplishment stances of the national State of Emergency which was recently declared to prevent and control the spread of Novel #COVID-19 urged the public to donate blood and save lives more than ever.

The urge is a recent enquiry forwarded to all citizens of the nation from every member of the Board when they were donating blood, this week.

During the blood donation program conducted at the premises of the Ministry of Health, Chairman of the Board Ato Petros Woldesenbet said; Board members volunteered to donate blood in order to reach the needy children and other patients of various diseases and incidents.

His honor Tesfaye Dhaba, Vice Chairman of the Board on his part pointed, the gov’t along with the public are exerting due efforts to fight the spread of the Corona virus pandemic. He added, the blood donation; which can be regarded as part of the fight, is an act that demonstrates the Board members commitment to the people they are destined to serve.

The Vice Chairman also urged the public to obey every necessary precaution measures from the gov’t entities and health practitioners entitled to do so.

Her honor Woizero Fantaye Wendim, Secretary of the Board, said; donating blood saves lives and at the same time, satisfies the donors mind for such a life-saving deed.

She summoned the society to respond to the declining blood donation all over the nation, which should have been caused by the contemporary situation of the #COVID-19 pandemic across the planet and in the country as well.

Her Excellence Woizero Seharla Abdullahi, State Minister of the Ministry of Health reacted, the blood donation from the members of the Enquiry Board of the National State of Emergency is commendable and a pioneering deed for other entities to do the same.
