Board urges zones persistently fight Corona virus spread

May 25, 2020; Addis Ababa: Inquiry Board of the National State of Emergency urged the Halaba and kembata zones of South Region to remain persistent in their fight against the spread of Corona virus that they already commenced.

The Board’s request for the two zones, which urges them fight the spread of #COVID-19 tenaciously, was addressed in the recent overseeing visits that it paid to the mentioned places.

The Board witnessed the two zones prepared their respective plans of action and formed-up Task-Forces before getting down to business. Delivery of the awareness raising lessons, resource mobilization, measuring temperature of people-in-movement around bus stations and exit-entrance areas along with isolation centres were executed earlier, as it has been observed by the Board’s contingent.

The Honourable petros Woldesenbet, Chairperson of the Board and leader of the contingent appreciated the home-to-home examination for the #COVID-19 and incubating the new comers from abroad, through tireless efforts of follow-ups in the two zones, similarly, as has been stated by the SoE and the WHO guidelines.

He requested the two zones in-general and the Task-Forces in particular to continue such great tasks in integration with all the concerned bodies to save others from contaminations, which could result from the victims.

The Chairperson, in addition, reminded the Task-Forces and other stakeholders to strive for just distribution of the resources mobilized for the sake of withstanding the Corona virus.

“Drivers and passengers shall use face masks. The motor-bicycles transporting two plus people shall get appropriate measures not to continue to do so. Isolation of newcomers from abroad, particularly from South Africa (most of them repatriate from SA) and integration with neighbouring zonal administrations shall be strengthened”, The Honourable petros Woldesenbet pointed.
