House Speaker hands resources registration document to Commission

August 24, 2020; Addis Ababa: Honourable Tagesse Chaffo, Speaker of House of People’s Representatives handed over a document in which, any type of personal properties and resources of his own, Mps in general and senior members including that of the officials of the Secretariat of the House to the Anti-Corruption Commission.

During the ceremony the Speaker said, the registration is intended to enable the proper utilization of resources of the nation. Hence, he recommended, govt authorities at the federal level shall do the same to effect strict policy of appropriate utilization of resources.

He added, the Commission itself shall conduct a thorough investigation upon organizations deemed to have exponential exposure to corruption so as to tackle the drawback. It also is expected to maintain its instructions with regard to ethical considerations and shall also have a clear record of property seizures registered document, he stressed.

Commissioner Tsega Araghie on his part awarded certificates to MPs and other officials who were involved in the process in recognition of their transparency.
