Space science steps prosperity of the nation: House Speaker

Dec 11, 2019; Addis Ababa: “The promising steps made in space science and technology will benefit the nation in its endeavours to prosperity”, House Speaker Tagesse Chaffo said.

The House Speaker said this during a visit he paid with MPs to the Entoto Space Science and Technology Observatory Institute.

He added, the institute is believed to deliver helpful info to the concerned bodies in order to utilize it appropriately for facilitating the development tasks that the nation already initiated. “It’ll also help the country to have space science scholars and by doing so, the institute is hoped to narrow some differences being observed right now, in different societal interactions” the Speaker elaborated.

Ethiopia was purchasing info from other countries which now won’t continue and by doing so; it’ll save for-ex which will speed-up the momentum of prosperity of the nation, as to him.

Minister of Innovation and Technology Ministry, Getahun Mekuria (Engineer), on his part elucidated; the observatory has lots of duties to contribute to the overall demands of the nation. Accordingly, the institute is expected to provide social service networks along with innovation prototypes to the nation, he indicated.

The Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute launched in 2016/17 academic year by the scholars from 32 universities of the country; with a vision of conducting global-level researches, the Minister reminded.
