H.E.Mr.Abadulla Gemeda served as the speaker of the House in the 4^th and 5^th term. The House accepted his request to resign be for the end of his tenure in the 5^th House.

According to the constitution article 55/19 and rules of procedures and Members’ code of conduct regulation, article 8/3 a Hon.Mrs. Mufaryat Kamel elected to be the speaker of the House.
