null Legal and Justice Affairs Standing Committee

The Legal, Justice and Administration Affairs Standing Committee shall conduct oversight and control on the following matters:

a) To oversee and control that organization of justice administration of the federal government is based on the Constitution and perform its duties appropriately;

b) To oversee and control that the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution are implemented appropriately;

c) To oversee and control the establishment and process of free and fair election system;

d) To oversee and control the provision of free, fair and speedy judicial service to the public;

e) To oversee and control that a system is established and implemented appropriately which enables to prevent and control corruption and maladministration;

f) The lifting of immunity in accordance with Article 54 (6) Of the Constitution and other matters related to the rights and code of conduct of members;

g) To oversee and control that the task of prevention of crime is performed appropriately and sufficient protection is granted to whistle blowers and witnesses of criminal acts;

h) To oversee and control that legal advisory, prosecution and litigation activities are undertaken in a manner to ensure the right and interest of the public and government;

i) To oversee and control that peace is maintained and that rules enabling to prevent and resolve disputes and conflicts in a sustainable manner are existed and implemented;

j) To oversee and control activities to strengthen the good relationship and cooperation between the federal government and the states based on mutual understand and partnership;

k) To oversee and control the appropriate implementation of policies, laws, strategies and plans related to the bodies under its oversight and control mandate;

l) To oversee and control that the bodies under its oversight and control mandate utilized the budget allocated to them appropriately and effectively.

The Legal, Justice and Administration Affairs Standing Committee may, where necessary, examine draft law referred to any standing committee by the House or any draft law presented to the House in order to ensure that it is in compliance with the principles of legislative drafting.
