null International Anti-IS Coalition Conference kicks off

An international Ministerial conference aimed at discussing on the idea of wiping out the terrorist group, IS or Daesh, kicked off in Kuwait on Tuesday(February 13, 2018). An Ethiopian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu is taking part in the conference.

The meeting is part of a series of international conferences that took place in order to build a formal coalition to destroy the IS, which had taken over large portions of Syria and Iraq in 2014.

The objective for which the Secretariat is established shall be to provide professional support and service to the House of Peoples’ Representatives in order to be effectual in its administrative constitutional responsibility.

In his remarks, Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh said international terrorism is unacceptable in any way and stressed on the importance of international coordination and cooperation to fight the scourge. Ethiopia, he said, would continue to strengthen its role in fighting terrorism and maintaining its profound role in the peace and stability of the world.

The conference is expected to deliberate on best possible options to to completely eradicate the terrorist group and the ways in which the international community can work together.
